We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the 46th annual Music in Plymouth tonight. We’re all aware its a warm one today… please take precautions in the heat. Stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade and keep an eye on each other.
Here are some good tips and symptoms to watch for to avoid illness: (click through for more information)
- Find air conditioning.
- Avoid strenuous activities.
- Wear light clothing.
- Check on family members and neighbors.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Watch for heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
- Never leave people or pets in a closed car.

Scottie Miller is recovering from a neck injury that has affected his arm and hand. Regretfully he is not able to perform at Music in Plymouth this year but he hopes to be back in the future. The Plymouth Civic League wishes him a full and speedy recovery.
Salsa del Soul has kindly agreed to step in to perform their crowd-pleasing variety of dance-based music from the Spanish-speaking regions of the Caribbean.
It’s not too soon to start thinking about summer!

The annual Music in Plymouth 5K will be run on Saturday, June 24th.
Take home a piece of Music in Plymouth history – a quilt made from 20 years of Music in Plymouth 5K tee shirts! The quilt will be raffled off at Music in Plymouth on June 29th. Tickets are $10 each and the quilt comes with a cooler and accessories to help you enjoy Music in Plymouth for years to come!
Also new this year: blanket weights! Buy a set of four Plymouth Civic League blanket weights and never worry about how to keep your picnic blanket in place again! Remember, no staking of blankets or tarps at the Hilde Performance Center, so use these weights instead! Four weights for $10 – available on site starting at 7am on June 29th.

Mark your calendar for Music in Plymouth 2014! Tuesday, July 1, 2014, 5pm.
The Music in Plymouth 5K will be run on Saturday, June 28, starting at 8am.
The Plymouth Civic League welcomes back the Minnesota Orchestra to the Hilde Performance Center for this year’s event. Other musical entertainment includes Mu Daiko Japanese drumming, singer-songwriter Alison Scott, and Maiden Dixie. The traditional grand fireworks display will close the evening.

This year’s entertainment line up includes Belladiva, Socaholix, and The Irresistibles – featuring Mick Sterling, and the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, with special guest trumpeter Charles Lazarus.
The evening begins at 5pm and concludes with the traditional grand fireworks display immediately following the conclusion of the stage entertainment, approximately 10:15pm.

40th Anniversary of Music in Plymouth!
Music in Plymouth celebrated its 40th anniversary on Tuesday, July 3 with a terrific line up of musical and family entertainment featuring the 451st Army Reserve Band, Scottie Miller, The R-Factor (formerly Rupert’s Orchestra) and the Minnesota Orchestra. The evening’s festivities were rounded out with T-6 Thunder WW-II era planes in a stunning flyover, Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater and Funtime Funktions fire dancers. The fireworks display that ended the evening is consistently rated among the state’s best and it did not disappoint.
